Sherrice Iverson

Sherrice Iverson was a 7 year old girl that was raped and murdered by an 18 year old man.

Jeremy Strohmeyer was sentenced to four life sentences for this crime. 21 years later, his lawyers asked the courts to reconsider his case, arguing that an 18 year old acts on impulse. Their brains aren't mature enough to make rational decisions. The US supreme court had also decided that juveniles sentenced to a life sentence for the killing of just one person, should be given the chance of parole.

I will allow you to make your own judgement as to whether poor Jeremy should be given the chance at life again as I explain what happened on the 25th May 1997.

Jeremy and his 17 year old friend David Cash Jr. were at the Primadonna Resort & Casino in Nevada over Labour day weekend in 1997, accompanied by David's father.

Sherrice was also there with her father and her older 14 year old brother. Leroy, her father, was described as having an addiction to gambling. He had been drinking for most of the night and security had politely asked him to keep closer watch of his young daughter. He ignored this, leaving the responsibility of Sherrice with her brother.

Sherrice eventually got bored and began roaming around the casino, as any 7 year old would. She went into the ladies toilet and Jeremy shortly followed behind her.

David, followed too, curious as to why Jeremy decided to enter. He witnessed them throwing wet paper towels at the ceiling. Out of nowhere, Jeremy forcibly took Sherrice. He grabbed her legs and used his other hand to cover her mouth, preventing her from screaming out for help.
Instead of intervening, David decided to leave, not telling anyone what happened.

20 minutes later, the door to the ladies toilet opened with Jeremy leaving by himself. He confessed to David that he had raped and killed Sherrice, leaving her body in one of the cubicles. Blaming his behaviour on drugs.
