Sherrice Iverson

Sherrice Iverson was a 7 year old girl that was raped and murdered by an 18 year old man. Jeremy Strohmeyer was sentenced to four life sentences for this crime. 21 years later, his lawyers asked the courts to reconsider his case, arguing that an 18 year old acts on impulse. Their brains aren't mature enough to make rational decisions. The US supreme court had also decided that juveniles sentenced to a life sentence for the killing of just one person, should be given the chance of parole.  I will allow you to make your own judgement as to whether poor Jeremy should be given the chance at life again as I explain what happened on the 25th May 1997. Jeremy and his 17 year old friend David Cash Jr. were at the Primadonna Resort & Casino in Nevada over Labour day weekend in 1997, accompanied by David's father.  Sherrice was also there with her father and her older 14 year old brother. Leroy, her father, was described as having an addiction to gambling. He had been

Torture Slayings

The following case is one that had the local community asking a lot of questions. Many concluded that it was a hate crime, many argued saying that race was not the main motivator for this attack, something else was. Were people too 'politically correct' to call this for what it was? Especially as black men aren't generally seen as the main perpetrators when it comes to hate crimes. I will try to remain unbiased and leave the answer up to you - despite how gruesome these murders were.  Channon was 21, a student at the University of Tennessee majoring in sociology and her boyfriend, Christopher was 23. They had been together for a few months.  The two of them were looking forward to a friends birthday birthday on January 6th 2007.They had previously returned home from dinner in a local restaurant, but as the night was still young, there was nothing stopping them from going out again.  The couple had been staying at a friends apartment. They decided to leave at

The Lesbian Triangle

Its the summer of '97, 18 year old Stacy Hanna has finally decided to make the 9 hour move from her hometown Lynchburg, Tennessee to the Richmond, Virginia. She see's this opportunity as a chance to finally figure out who she is, allow herself to blossom into the woman she is meant to be. It is ironic how she ended up there. I mean, she only moved to Richmond to help one of her friends settle into the area. She quickly fell in love, finding a job and a nice townhouse to move into. Stacy shared this townhouse with a young girl called Kelly who was nineteen at the time, who was a mutual friend. A lot of people either stayed at the townhouse or were frequent visitors. Domica Winckler (18), Dana Vaughn and Tracy Bitner (19) were those who were known to authorities. Tracy was in a relationship with Kelly and if you hadn't realised thus far, all of these girls, including Stacy were lesbian. The extent to which Stacy's sexuality is something people knew about is not so
